You will know that we have been undertaking a recruitment exercise to find a new tenant for the pub. The good news is that we are delighted to welcome our new tenants:
Sam and Becky Harrison
Sam and Becky are an experienced hospitality management couple.
Some of you may have seen Becky at her most recent venture where she runs the Courtyard Café in Bedale, having had previous experience in pub and events management.
Sam has considerable hospitality experience, trained in classical cookery and with key skills in business and finance he has run his own pub and managed various consultancy projects.
Becky will lead on front of house, manage the B&B rooms and service standards whilst Sam will lead the kitchen and supplier relationships with both ensuring strong ties with the community.
So, it's a big Exelby WELCOME to Sam and Becky who will have the doors open soon. As soon as we have the details, we will let you know.
The Management Committee took on board the suggestions received to assist with the recruitment and new tenancy agreement.
From an advert and word of mouth there were five applicants and additional enquiries. All applicants were put through the same process of assessment to form a shortlist and similarly by the interview panel to achieve the final selection. All applicants also had a viewing and remarked how well the pub was presented and ready to trade.
We are sure you can imagine, there is a lot of work that has gone into this to ensure the closure period was as short as possible and to everyone involved and the comments you have made, sincere thanks.
