Our last newsletter let you know that Tom had asked to be released from the current lease as soon as possible and that the Management Committee had agreed to this. Since then, we have been working on a plan to manage a transition to ensure continuity and the best interests of the pub, shareholders and customers.
Tom, Ali and Ryan and the Management Committee have been working together to manage the transition to a new tenancy.
In a nutshell, Ali and Ryan will be taking on the pub tenancy from 1st October 2025 with Tom handing back the lease at the end of August 2025.
This means trading will continue until the end of August under Tom’s tenure and then there will be a period of closure during September to give Ali and Ryan time to be business ready and make all the arrangements necessary to have a successful pub.
There has been considerable support to the idea of Ali and Ryan taking over and your continued support and custom is important in taking the pub forward in its next chapter of community ownership. You might see Ali and Ryan working at the pub during August which is all part of the transition.
Further updates will be forwarded as we go forward but I wanted to bring you up to date as soon as possible.
