Our last newsletter let you know that Tom had asked that he be released from the
current lease. The end date for this is 31st August 2025.
Since then, we have been working on a plan to manage a transition to ensure
continuity and the best interests of the pub, shareholders and customers. Part of this
has been discussions with Ali and Ryan about taking on the lease for a period and
whilst there is community support for them, having had time to look into this in more
detail they have decided for their own reasons that this is not something they wish to
pursue further at this time. We sincerely thank Ali and Ryan for the interest they
have shown, the time they have taken and, like the rest of us, their true passion in
seeing the pub as a continuing success.
The Management Committee are now looking at other options including securing a
new tenant and those processes are underway.
What this means is that there are no other immediate options open other than for the
pub to close for a period whilst this happens. The imperative is to plan for the future
and that is what is now happening.
We will keep you updated on progress but for now, a meeting for shareholders has
been arranged for Tuesday 26th August at 6.30pm at the pub. The meeting will be a question, answer and ideas session. Whilst short notice we hope to see as many of you as possible.
